System Administrator


Basic position responsibilities:

Plans, implements, tests, documents, and maintains solutions for the integration and testing of in-house developed and COTS/GOTS components, elements, and systems. Maintaining system documentation and component build sheets, tuning system performance, installing system software and allocate mass storage space. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, and coordinates installation.

Job Description

  • Install and configure Windows Server 2012 R2 on Virtual and Physical hardware devices to be deployed to operations.

  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and operating problems escalated to Tier IV level.

  • Defines, monitors, and troubleshoots system performance within the VMware VCenter development cycle.

  • Experience with installing configuring and performance tuning of VMware VCenter on Bare Metal Server Blade technology.

  • Experience with SSO Connection broker and Load balancing, VMware VCenter Server, Horizon View Administration and components used to support a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure computing environment.

  • Experience translating ACAS/Retina scan information for networked systems to determine system security posture.

  • Experience with DoD STIG guidelines and implementation.

  • Fully engage with team to build-configure virtual and physical HW to be deployed to Operations

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or 3-5 years equivalent experience/combined education, certification.

Work Location: Norfolk, VA

(Server MTA is acceptable) in addition to: VMWare VCA or VCP desired.

Clearance: Acive Secret with SSBI or Top Secret

Certifications: CompTIA Security+CE, Current Microsoft Server 2012OS
