APTIM QC Specialist in Norfolk, Virginia
QC responsibilities include helping project managers and site QC managers develop, maintain, and enforce project-specific QC plans on environmental remedial action/restoration projects under contract with federal agencies such as the Navy, Air Force, Army Corps, or EPA.
Previous project QC experience should cover the QC fundamentals on environmental remedial action/restoration projects, such as planning, conducting and documenting QC inspections for work performed by various subcontractors
Receipt inspection of materials and writing daily QC reports; reviewing, approving and tracking construction submittals; resolving nonconforming or defective materials and workmanship; conducting project QC meetings;
Coordinating inspections by QC Specialists and Government Quality Assurance (QA) personnel.
Mid-level professional with a B.S. Degree in Engineering, Physical Science or Construction Technology/Management.
4 to 5 years of project experience as Project/Site QC Manager, Alternate Project/Site QC Manager or QC Specialist on federal environmental remedial action/restoration projects.
Sufficient project QC experience to allow the professional to be trained and elevated to program QC manager, helping multiple project managers, site QC managers, technical and construction staff effectively implement the construction quality management system (QC plans; three phases of control; QC documentation) on their projects.
We expect applicants to provide a certificate for completing the NAVFAC/USACE course entitled Construction Quality Management for Contractors.
