Provides administrative support tasks as well as operational management of the medical staff such as credentialing, privilege delineation, and the reappointment program, along with the office essentials. Includes monthly monitoring of outstanding applications; tracking expirables, and department meetings and processing credentialing applications as assigned. Work requires a high degree of initiative, responsibility, self-discipline and confidentiality.
Associate degree preferred. High school graduate required.
Previous work experience in a medical staff/credentialing office and administrative/secretarial
Credentialing experience is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have computer proficiency and be knowledgeable of various work processing programs.
Ability to communicate with a diverse group of people from all levels of the hospital.
Ability to independently prioritize work, meet deadlines, and have close attention to detail.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Knowledge of JCAHO standards and guidelines for Medical Staff preferred.
Computer literacy including proficiency in Windows based MS Office. Familiarity with normal office
