Veterinarian will oversee canine welfare and performance as well as the welfare of all company dogs worldwide. The Veterinarian will assist with veterinarian hiring, training and technical support in close coordination with Country Managers, Program Managers, and Training Managers.
Establish, maintain, and oversee operations of a fully-functional veterinary facility providing routine, preventative, and urgent veterinary care for working dogs. Facility will provide various services including, fitness-for-duty examinations, vaccinations, diagnostic testing, radiography, dental care, and routine elective surgery.
Maintain effective communication and a positive working relationship with other veterinary entities providing medical care to company canines.
Work with the Human Resources to assist with the recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and retention of Veterinarians.
Work with Senior Management to develop and implement cost-efficient and contractually-compliant veterinary preventive medicine and feeding protocols and standard operating procedures to ensure maximum canine mission readiness and fitness-for-duty.
Work with Senior Management and K-9 Team to develop and implement effective canine kenneling strategies. This includes effective cleaning and sanitation strategies.
Train and supervise workers who handle and care for animals.
Manage quarantine and testing procedures in order to prevent the spread of diseases to other animals or to humans and ensure compliance with applicable government regulations;
Other duties as assigned.
Educate Kennel Managers, Trainers, and Handlers about diseases that can be spread from animals to humans.
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) required.
Current North Carolina Licensure highly preferred, or must be able to obtain a License in North Carolina.
Must have a valid U.S. Passport and driver's license.
Strong leadership and management skills.
Must be proficient in MS Office applications to include: MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point, MS Outlook and basic knowledge of MS Visio.

Work is based in a busy kennel and training environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Frequent work outside and in inclement weather conditions is required, including heat, cold, and humidity. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include early morning, extended, or weekend hours.
Must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 75 lbs. Requires standing for long periods of time in all weather conditions. Requires intermittent sitting, walking, running, climbing, squatting, stretching, bending and kneeling. Requires constant use of hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
